The wonders of the internet

The internet is trumpeted as the answer to all that ails our culture and in many ways it has been a positive improvement to our lives, However, in one way it has tragically failed us, as with the advent of multiple choices and immediate responses we are many of us left disheartened and frustrated by the flippancy now prevalent on the World Wide Web. One applies for jobs and never has so much as a response to say 'goodbye and thank you' or even 'kiss my arse' and a post on fartbook about something serious is met with a deafening silence as the latest cafe latte is celebrated instead. The internet has made people rude and played to their laziness. How often does one hear 'it's just the internet' well my point exactly it's just the internet nothing more, just another tool no better or worse than anything else. I would say however that a well thought out letter to a man in prison to brighten his day is a damn sight more important and creative than many things that go on 'at' the Internet.
